Georgia is a licensed attorney in both Texas and Florida, where she found her true calling in immigration law. She graduated from Florida State University College of Law, where she obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in American Law in addition to her Juris Doctor, graduating with honors (Magna cum Laude). Georgia is also admitted to practice before the Southern and Western Districts of Texas.
She first gained experience in immigration law as a volunteer at the Center for Advancement of Human Rights, assisting clients in asylum, domestic violence, human trafficking, and refugee cases. After that, she enrolled in various internships and externships in the public interest law field. She directly assisted a family law judge at the Second Circuit Court, who was an excellent mentor, leading her to the next experience at FSU Law’s Children’s Advocacy Clinic.
At the clinic, she learned about the foster care system and handled adoption and Special Immigrant Juvenile cases. The work she did there solidified her commitment to stand up and advocate for underrepresented people in vulnerable situations, while also reconnecting her with immigration law.
Upon becoming licensed, she relocated to Austin, Texas, to be reunited with friends and family members in the area. After working as an associate for more than five years, she decided to apply her experience toward building her own firm. She has experience with family-based petitions, removal defense, waivers, humanitarian visas, representation before USCIS, habeas corpus, and bond proceedings. She is deeply committed to helping individuals secure release from detention and reunite with their families. Her work experience, language skills, and passion enabled her to create SanLaurent Law Group.
Today, the firm has grown into SanLaurent & Hutchens Law Group, following the addition of attorney Ashleigh Hutchens as partner—marking an exciting new chapter and a stronger, more complete team.

Ashleigh became a licensed attorney in November 2021, having graduated with honors from Purdue Global (Concord Law). She is licensed by the California Supreme Court. She resides in Georgetown, Texas with her husband, Steven, and their two children (with one on the way!)
After working as a legal assistant in a busy immigration law practice in Charleston, South Carolina, for about three years, she relocated to Austin, Texas, with her then-fiancé in 2013. In Austin, Ashleigh worked as a legal assistant for 8 years before passing the bar and becoming a partner in the practice. There, she learned not only how to accomplish her client’s goals but also how to do so attentively and professionally.
Ashleigh’s passion is immigration law. Her favorite thing about practicing immigration law is finding pathways for clients to legalize their status–providing them with security and the ability to stay in the US with their families and loved ones. Her primary focus is family-based petitions, pardons, naturalization, consular processing, and humanitarian applications such as U visas, VAWA, and T visas.
Ashleigh met Georgia while they worked together for several years at the same firm. The pair share the same values–treating each client with respect and dignity while providing excellent legal counsel. Together, they provide a well rounded firm which can assist clients in each step of their case. Today, they are thrilled to found their firm together, SanLaurent & Hutchens Law Group, where every client is valued and each win is celebrated.
